Current Union Collective Agreements:
The primary source of information concerning the current working conditions which apply to AEU members are the following Union Collective Agreements:

Additional Agreements:
As a result of clauses within the ACT DET Teaching Staff Collective Agreement 2006-2009 the following additional agreements have reached:
Hindmarsh Education Centre Extended Program Scheme Agreement [see Clause 134].
Birrigai Agreement [see Clause 135].
Standown, Annual Leave and Recall to Duty during annual leave Agreement [see Clause 146].
ACT Government Deed of Agreement:
The Deed of Agreement between the AEU and the ACT Government was signed on 22 May 2008. This Deed contains working conditions which continue to apply but, because of the WorkChoices Federal industrial laws, could not be included within the Union Collective Agreements.

The previous UCA's Section Q [Teacher Transfer, Mobility and Limited Time Placement] has been replaced by the new EA's Section EE [Teacher Transfer]. The following AEU advice regarding transfer entitlement can be read in conjunction with the new section.
Journey Cover Policy Document
Only financial AEU members are protected by their Union during travel:
- to and from work;
- to and from authorised meal breaks;
- to and from out-of-hours PD;
- to and from Union meetings.

Part-time Roster

To alleviate some of that confusion around hours of work generated by the DET Part-time Roster, the AEU has now put its roster on the website. The difference between the two is in the required attendance time ... DET's roster is based on a 36 hours 45 minutes week for purposes of leave and pay while the Union's retains the 32 hours and 30 minutes week. The roster should be read in conjunction with Section W in our Certified Agreement so you are able to add such professional responsibilities as meeting times, parent-teacher evenings, open nights and so on over and above the benchmark 32:30.

Preschool administrative duties from Term 3 2008

The AEU advises all preschool members to cease carrying out any responsibilities associated with administration of the preschool [whether you receive the TIC allowance or not] as of the beginning of Term 3 2008. These duties are the responsibility of the Principal of the primary school that is linked to the preschool/s. In the case of teachers in Early Intervention Units, Autism Intervention Units and Koori Preschools, the Principal, Early Years Learning is reponsible for the administration of these units.
